I am married, and have three children. When I was in college, I had a girlfriend who was beautiful, creative, loved sex, and apparently, loved me. The fact that she loved me frightened me, and I emotionally pushed her away over a period of months. Now, twenty years later, I think of her all the time, and I wonder how much better my life might have been had I not been so stupid. I didn't know any better, really, but not understanding that someone really does love you is a horrendous thing.
